Corowa Civic Bowls Business and Sports Club Fours

March 16, 2017

The winning team Mick Douch, Helen Maddy, Ian Lewis and Ken Maddy.

The Corowa Civic Bowls Club has again completed a successful event for local businesses and sports clubs over four Wednesdays at Ball Park.
Some teams included a regular bowler, but mostly participation came from those who do not bowl, or at least very irregularly.
The competition started off well with the first four games played over two weeks and a leader table formed  topped by Federation Council Staffers, Corowa Bakery, Pro Shop Corowa Golf, Howard Squires, Bilney Builders and, O’Çonnors Hard Cases .
The fun, comments, camaraderie and serious play in very good conditions, led to many favourable statements being made.
Where else could you play, have fresh air, cheese and bikkies for $5 per night?
The weekly snags also went down well, as many a player was on the run and had to settle for supper, rather than dinner.
Well done to all who entered (making for a total of 96 players) and the club looks forward to you all having another go and that includes other businesses and clubs who might like to enter.
Placings were Howard Squires 4th, Bilney Builders 3rd, Corowa Bakery 2nd and the winners of the Stan Bromley Shield was the Federation Council Staffers.
