Police are investigating a single car accident in Chiltern Valley on August 10 that claimed the life of a man.
It is believed the car left Chiltern Valley Road and struck a tree just after 3pm and caught fire.
The yet to be identified male driver, who was the only occupant of the car, died at the scene.
The man’s vehicle appeared to have travelled into dirt on the wrong side of the road, before veering off the left side of the road.
The car hit a tree and caught alight.
The driver was trapped inside and died at the scene.
The incident caused severe damage to the car, which appeared to have rolled onto its roof.
The crash occurred near Mantelli Road, with the driver travelling south before the collision.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
