The Rotary Club of Corowa is inviting everyone to come and hear from inspirational speaker and National Heart Foundation Ambassador Jeremy Scott who will speak on September 28 at the Corowa RSL Club.
As a four-year-old child Jeremy had major open heart surgery, which taught him that life was precious and something to cherish.
He began to see life as a rollercoaster ride, filled with challenges and experiences.
Some of those challenges were forced upon him while others were of his own design.
Jeremy began a challenge that was of his own design on October 5, 2011 – a 2 ½ year, 51,916 kilometre unsupported bicycle ride from London to New Zealand.
The journey took many years to plan and as he pedalled his way around the planet, he accumulated more than enough kilometres to circumnavigate the earth.
At the conclusion of this phenomenal journey, Jeremy wrote the highly successful book ‘The Long Road From a Broken Heart’ and now dedicates his life to inspiring others.
As a passionate supporter of numerous charities, Jeremy was awarded the 2015 Australian Heart Foundation ‘Heart Hero’ Award for his work raising funds, awareness and inspiring others with heart disease.
As Jeremy will be talking on the night that the Rotary Club of Corowa normally meets, those wishing to attend have two options.
Firstly attend for a two-course dinner and a glass of wine for $30, (which includes a donation to the National Heart Foundation of $5), or secondly come for the presentation starting at 7.30pm for a donation of $5.
For more information, or to book dinner, or a seat phone 0499 878 529, or email [email protected]
Meanwhile, the National Boys Choir visit on September 25 has been moved to the Oddfellows Hall from 7.30pm.
Entry is by gold coin donation.
The Corowa Rotary Club is looking for more host families to take two boys for the night of September 25.
