The Corowa Show Committee has fingers crossed for fine weather for its 139th show on Sunday, October 8 and wants no repeat of last year when the event had to be rescheduled due to the showgrounds flooding.
Corowa Show Secretary Jan McKenna said excitement was building as preparations were underway.
“We want everyone to mark October 8 in their diary and come and support the day,” she said.
“We are excited to have some new acts this year and the climbing wall is back again, which is always a hit with the children.”
One of the new attractions will be comedy act Troppo Bob who delivers a refreshing mix of verbal and visual comedy, along with friendly good–humoured audience interaction and has been described as providing amazing magical experiences.
The show committee also welcomes on board Trixie the Clown who will be performing three times on the day and also roving with her fabulous balloons.
Meanwhile, Black Snake Productions will return this year with a range of animals including crocodiles.
There will also be the plenty of rides, showbags and food.
For the first time the horse events program will include a children’s ring.
The introduction of the under 18 children’s ring will feature $1000 in prizemoney that will be spread over Champion, Reserve Champion and Highly Commended over the 55 classes.
Sara Love returns as ringmaster and garlands will be awarded to Supreme Rider, Supreme Open Ridden Exhibit, Supreme Led Exhibit, Supreme Show Hunter, Goldie Fox and L J Skehans Memorials.
All champions in rings one, two and three will receive a bag of chaff sponsored by Corowa Chaff Mill.
Residents are encouraged to try their hand at making jams, jellies, pickles, sauces and cakes, as well as craft, knitting, crochet, dressmaking and embroidery and enter their best in the show.
