Rutherglen Golf Club Ladies and Juniors
Finally golfers are enjoying good weather; the club hopes with the ladies tournament coming up this week on Wednesday, September 21 it will be a good day.
Monthly medal was played last Wednesday, Pat Prescott had another good day 39 pts - well done Pat, the handicapper will be after you.
Pat also put in a sterling effort playing Jenny Williams in SKO, Jen winning on the 19th, great effort from both these ladies.
Jenny will now play Heather in the final in October, good luck to both.
Golfers have the Chiltern tournament on September 26 and then Beechworth on October 18, so a busy two months.
Also the North East Sandgreens at Mitta on October 9.

Paddy again won the trophy on Saturday for putting, new junior Kyle called in sick, so hope he gets better over the holidays and Joseph was back after his little break.

Corowa RSL Indoor Bowls
Tuesday, September 12 provided again a very good display of bowling by members, the games were very even and the winning team had a real challenge to achieve their victory.
The runner-up team with a win and a loss was lead S. Dudziak, second P. Manning, third G. Monish and their skip P. Kerr.
The winning team with two wins 34 points was lead L. Roksandic, third J.W. Webber and their skip D. Pleming.
On Wednesday, September 13 indoor bowls club began a new phase, the project being to give those people that are still in the work environment and would like to partake in indoor bowling the opportunity to do so by bowling on a Wednesday night.
At this early stage the club intends to bowl every second Wednesday, so if any person would like to take part the club can help with coaching, members are willing and able to address newcomers’ needs.
On Thursday, September 14 members witnessed one of the singles championship elimination contests - it was one of the best contests witnessed so far in this championship.
The contestants were D. Sander up against W. Dowsey. The contest had everything and both bowlers should be proud of their performance, the scores were all square going into the last end with W. Dowsey winning by one point.
Friday, September 15 was an excellent bowling display by members, some bowled above their average good to witness that improvement.
The runner-up team with 21 points was lead P. Kerr, second D. Pleming, third D. Roberts and the skip J.W. Webber.
The winning team doing the club proud with 35 points was lead J. Wilson, second G. Sander, third A. Smith and the skip P. Manning.
Corowa Civic Bowls Club
After a very cold winter things are starting to warm up for bowlers with the Ovens and Murray opening day being held at the club last week.
There were 34 teams entered and after three games Anne Miles’ team from YMGCR were the winners.
The day was enjoyed by all.
Now is the time for all bowlers to check the noticeboard for upcoming events.
The Medley Roundup continues for another three weeks and Belle of the Green will be played on Thursday.
Social bowls continue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Pennant starts in October then club events begin with the Club Pairs, followed by the Club Singles and the 100up Handicap, plus various state events.
That should keep everyone busy until December.
