The 2018 Marcus Fraser Ambrose is again proving to be the “must play” event of the year at Corowa Golf Club with over 300 entries for the weekend’s golf, Friday January 5 to Sunday January 7, with players competing for over $20,000 in prizes.
This year’s Hole in One prize on the 18th hole Sunday is a Gold Bar worth $20,000.
Tournament organiser Shaun Whitechurch advised of some program changes.
“In an effort to speed up the play in the heat, we have restricted the field by 15 groups in the morning and afternoon and as a result we see both am and pm time slots almost full,” he told the Free Press.
“Commencing with an optional 5 hole shootout on the Friday night the 5th of January, players will arrive for a Meet and Greet fun hit with $800 in prizes for the 3 person 5 hole multiplier.”
“The main event kicks off Saturday at 7am with the afternoon field hitting off at 1pm.”
A great night’s entertainment will follow Saturday’s play.
The entertainment has been changed to include a comedian followed by live band until close.
Tournament host, our star international Marcus Fraser, said he is still overwhelmed at the entries each year.
“I feel satisfied that the event is doing exactly what it was set up to do – generate money for the Corowa Golf Club where my career first started,” he said.
Marcus will again join many of his friends and supporters over the weekend and is looking forward to a little bit of R and R before he heads overseas for 2018.
Teams wishing to enter are advised to do so online as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
