Corowa rowers prepare for regatta

January 10, 2018

This weekend’s rowing regatta at Lake Moodemere will kick off at 8am on Saturday.

Corowa rowers have been hitting the water preparing for the upcoming M.R.A regatta held at Lake Moodemere on January 13 and 14.

Hot training conditions cannot stop the rowers who have put in a solid month of training for the local regatta.
The regatta is the oldest in Australia with this year’s event being the 153rd.
The local clubs Rutherglen Lake, Wahgunyah and Corowa Rowing Clubs supply the volunteers to set up the venue and supply the food and beverages for the two days of competition.
The regatta is a fantastic introduction to the sport with races running every three minutes starting from 8am Saturday and 7am Sunday.
Corowa Rowing Club will have 60 crews entered over the two days with the club’s youngest rower 9-years-old and many first time rowers competing at a Rowing Victoria regatta.
The weekend would not be possible without the help from many volunteers and supporters who assist with the regatta and Saturday night meal.
