Further consultation needed

Corowa residents have been getting anxious over Federation Council’s plans for the Skate Park, especially after rumours have indicated it may be demolished and moved further down that block of land on John Street.

Draft plans have been developed for the redevelopment and extension of the Corowa Skate Park as part of the Skate Park being successful in a grant of $333,170 under Federation Council’s Strong Community Funding.
The funding was provided as part of the amalgamation to create Federation Council.
Federation Council’s Interim General Manager Adrian Butler told the Free Press that a consensus had not yet been reached on a final design in consulting with the Skate Park Committee.
“Further community consultation and site assessment is needed before starting design development again,” he said.
“A new project brief was developed late last year and council is currently considering proposals from specialist skate park designers.
“Council will soon recommence the consultation and design of the Corowa Skate Park once the consultant is engaged.”
Federation Council did not specify the location of the redevelopment.
