Get your running shoes, goggles and pedals ready – the Rutherglen Triathlon is ready to rumble on Sunday, March 11.
Now in its 21st year, the triathlon is a community event that is on the same weekend as the gourmet event The Tastes of Rutherglen.
This year there are two events, including categories for individuals and teams: the long distance event comprises a 1.5km run, 22km bike ride, 200m pool swim and 3.5km run, while the short distance event (junior and back of the pack) consists of a 10km ride, 200m pool swim and 3.5km run.
More than $2000 in prizes is up for grabs across all the categories, with starting times beginning at 8am for the junior/back of the pack competitors.
The long distance event begins at 9am with presentations starting at 10am and 10.45am respectively.
Full details of location, event categories and fees are available on the event website www.rutherglenrotary.org/triathlon.htm and online applications will be accepted until 6pm on March 11.
All events are supervised by the local SES, Police and Rotary Club of Rutherglen and funds raised support Rotary Club community projects.
