There’s a buzz of excitement around the club as Corowa Historic Vehicle and Machinery members get set to “roll out the track” for the annual Vintage Tractor Pull and Vintage Rally on March 3 and 4.
The weekend’s activities will take place at the club’s headquarters, 241 Redlands Road, Corowa.
The two day event includes the Australian Chamberlain Championship on Saturday where participants in the past have travelled from Cooma, Orange and Kilmore.
Club President Bill Petzke said the tractor pull championship attracted up to 45 Chamberlain tractors last year.
“We had about 80 tractors all up on the Sunday, which included the ones here for the Chamberlain Championship,” he said.
“We would like to attract some younger people along.
“It’s a great weekend for those who have an interest in machinery.”
The track has been prepared and is ready to go, it just has to be watered on the day, Mr Petzke said.
“We have made some modifications to our sled over the last few weeks including some improved safety breaks,” he said.
Saturday will begin with a tractor road run and a display of vintage machinery including trucks from 10am.
The Australian Chamberlain Championship will take place from 10.30am.
Saturday will continue with a barbecue lunch for $5 and a complimentary barbecue tea from 6pm for members and exhibitors, followed by a fun auction.
Among the items up for grabs include chocolates from the Corowa Whisky and Chocolate Factory and a toolbox from Border Bearings.
The event continues into Sunday with the annual vintage tractor pull from 10am, as well as a display of vintage machinery.
Entry is by gold coin donation.
