Nurse Gillian Kingstone receives her flu vaccine from Dr Ayon.

Corowa and district residents are urged to book in for a flu vaccine at Corowa Medical Centre.

Flu vaccine commenced last week. Clinics will be held two or three times a week in the evenings during May and June.
“Everyone - absolutely everyone - should get the flu vaccine,” Dr Ayon Guhu, popularly known as ‘Doctor Ayon’ told The Free Press.
“Corowa has a large population of 65-plus age people who are probably more susceptible than others. The more people vaccinated means the more people protected.”
The flu season is July and August and people should prepare themselves now for the year’s coldest months.
The flu vaccine is free for people aged 65 and over. If a patient sees his or her doctor about another medical concern, the flu vaccine can take place at that time.
“It only takes a minute,” Dr Ayon said. He is also pleased to advise that Corowa Medical Centre undertakes many other functions including chronic disease management, skin cancer clinics, pain management and life style management with a weight loss program.
