Seniors – Rutherglen 19.13.127 def Dederang MB 10.8.68
The Cats welcomed Dederang Mt Beauty this week and it was important to get back on the winners’ list, but one thing for sure was we knew the opposition had certainly improved this year, so we wouldn’t be taking them lightly.

After the first quarter there was only one kick in it so our guys needed to work hard to take control. This did happen in the in the second and third quarters kicking 11 goals to three to have the game on our terms at three quarter time.

The last quarter DMB started off with the first two goals but to our guys’ credit we gained some momentum and the last quarter finished on even terms with four goals apiece, giving us a handy 59-point victory.

Well done to one of our favourite sons Seamus Bromley (Womey The torch) on playing his 150th senior game - a great achievement.

Under 17s – Rutherglen 5.7.37 def by Dederang MB 7.15.57
The Under 17’s shocking luck with injuries and sickness continued this week with coach Phil Lewis needing to be replaced by Bailey Holmes to lead the boys. All at the club wish Phil all the best for a speedy recovery.

The game itself was low scoring but a fierce battle. Jonte Maibaum played well in his final game before returning home to Germany.

Jackson Bowering had another excellent game along with Jack Andison and James Plummer.

The boys should enjoy the weekend off this week, giving the injuries a rest and hopefully get a few players back for the next game up at Tallangatta.
