Police are searching for a man over the death of a woman on a Melbourne soccer field and investigating whether there is a link to a previous sex attack.
CCTV images of the man "who may be able to assist" with inquiries were released by police late on Wednesday.
The woman's body was found on a field in Princes Park at Carlton North by a passer-by about 2.40am on Wednesday.
Homicide Squad Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper said his team will investigate if there's any connection to a sexual assault at Parkville on March 28.
The young American woman who was sexually assaulted recounted her ordeal, which she said took place on Gatehouse Street while she was walking at about 2.35am.
The University of Melbourne has issued a warning for its Parkville campus.
"In light of recent incidents in the vicinity of the Parkville campus, the University is asking students and staff to please take special care travelling to and from campus," the warning reads.
"With exams currently taking place during shorter winter days, we'd especially like to remind students to be vigilant while studying after dark."
