Lamb numbers lifted marginally on Monday up on last week’s market by 395 with a total of 13,931 yarded with 9,064 lambs and 4,867 sheep.
There were mostly heavy and extra heavy lambs offered. Trade weights were limited and there were only a few store lambs. Heavy Merino lambs increased slightly in numbers.
The market lifted $2 to $5/head across most grades. The 2 score processing lambs sold from $100 to $128/head.
Medium and heavy trade lambs to 24kg made from $154 to $198/head.
Heavy lambs, 24 to 26kg sold from $192 to $214/head with most averaging from 750c to 780c/kg cwt. Lambs heavier than 26kg made from $201 to a top of $250/head. Heavy Merino lambs sold from $195 to $208/head.
The best of the heavy hoggets reached $220/head.
Mutton numbers were steady and the quality good. Prices eased on the light and medium 1 and 2 score sheep while a larger run of heavy weights lifted $7 to $8/head. Medium weight ewes sold from $108 to $150/head. Heavy crossbred ewes sold from $173 to $225 and Merinos reached $201/head. Most were averaging from 600c to 630c/kg cwt.
