At long last on Sunday 28 June we held our Annual General Meeting. Barry Warburton was re-appointed as president with Frank Gee also re-appointed as vice president. We have a new secretary, Lynne Mills with Julie Holmquest staying on as treasurer.
A full list of other positions can be obtained from the secretary. We still have a few positions that need to be filled, Barry can be contacted regarding this.
The Bowls Club would like to thank Anne Summerill for all her hard work as secretary over a number of years. I’m sure she’s left it in good order for Lynne.
Rosemary Baddeley was also recognised for her 20 plus years of work to the club, thankyou Rosemary.
It was on a sad note that we said farewell to Brian Mansbridge who passed away last week. Brian had been in for an operation which he didn’t recover from. We also remember Gert Krahforst who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
We have been getting a good response from our mini social bowls format, hopefully it won’t be too long before we are back properly.
A reminder for those who still need to pay their annual subscription, this can be done at reception at the RSL Club. Also don’t forget to put your availability down for Tuesday and Saturday pennant days.
