Showcasing the work of six artists, the walls are lined with the artists own ideas and thoughts around the theme of ‘habitat’.
Murray Mizfits involves Judi Bilkey, Michelle Godden, Di Richmond, Leanne Willis, Joan Stevens and Kristen Dyer and they have all produced an array of artworks around the topic.
One of the artists, Leanne Willis, was thrilled to have the exhibition open.
‘‘We chose the word habitat to situate our styles of art within its meaning,’’ she said.
‘‘There is an eclectic range of artwork on display.
‘‘From traditional paintings to installations, mosaics and weaving.
‘‘It’s our own personal reflection and intepretation of the word.’’
With such a diverse range of artwork on display, Habitat allows you to not only learn about the different meanings of the word, but form and change your our definition of what a habitat is.
‘‘You will experience a mix of the word and be surprised by some of our own intepretations,’’ Leanne said.
Habitat opened on April 6 and will run until May 5 at the Foundry Arts Space.
It is open daily from 10am-4pm except Tuesdays and located in the centre of Echuca on 13-17 Murray Esplanade.
