The new station at 167 High Street Rutherglen replaces the old police station which had served the local community for about 50 years.Local police have continued to work out of a shop on Main Street over the past six months while construction was underway.Sergeant Brian Curran said the new station would provide a more modern, welcoming environment for the community and local police officers.“The old police station served our community well for more than five decades, but it was tired and we’d outgrown it,” he said.
“The new building is bigger, brighter and has updated facilities to support local police officers in their duties including a designated custody area.
“There is a community consultation room and it has a much more community-friendly entrance so please pop in and say hello.”
The station’s phone number has remained the same as 02 6032 9612. In an emergency always call Triple Zero (000).
The station will be officially opened at a later date.
