This event attracts tourists and day-trippers from the region to the area each year and adds to the local economy.
Local artists and artists from all around Australia have been supporting the show over the years.
It has been encouraging for the Corowa Federation Arts Committee members and volunteers to meet many of the artists and to see the progression of their wonderful talents.
Various judges have remarked on the spectacular works submitted, making their final decision very difficult.
The winners, now a part of the Corowa Collection housed at the Civic Art Space, were announced in a previous edition of The Free Press.
This year the winner of the ‘People’s Choice’ award went to Glenn Hoyle of Langwarrin, Victoria, for his work ‘Bag of Apples’.
The winner of the raffle went to Mrs Carmel Packer.
The Corowa Federation Arts Committee would like to thank the people of Corowa for their continued support of the art show – especially coming out this year in the sweltering heat.
For the wonderful success of this year’s art show we give a big thank you to: Federation Council and staff for their generous support, Corowa Whisky and Chocolate Factory for raffle prize, Margaret Flynn wine for raffle, Corowa Florist (Betty), Apex Club for transportation of display stands, the many volunteers – without whom we could not run the show – and the 104 artists who entered 392 works (30 works from in and around Melbourne and 73 works from Wagga and Sydney area), as well as the hard working committee members.
