Corowa High School students will embrace the opportunity to meet with local business owners to explore potential career pathways.
After the success of the inaugural expo held at Corowa High School in 2017, Corowa TAFE will now play host as students, parents and families can attend to take advantage of the opportunity, with a huge array of career opportunities to be showcased.
The event will run from 5-8pm on Wednesday, March 20, where businesses will be able to provide valuable career information to the eager attendees – their possible new recruits.
Corowa High School Careers Advisor Janet Lake said it serves as an opportunity to address the shortage of apprentices and trainees in a significant number of workplaces.
“It is also an opportunity to make students and families aware of the opportunities available to those who wish to pursue university studies possibly on a part time basis whilst working with a local business or professional office,” she said.
The set up for the 209 event is tipped to be very similar to 2017, where students and families can approach any employer/business owner to gather fruitful information.
“Keeping our youth employed locally is so important for the growth of our businesses, encouraging the development of new industries and the general prosperity of Corowa in the future,” Corowa Business Chamber’s Mary Hetherington said following the last event.
Food and drinks are available and everyone is welcome to attend.
