A five-wicket haul to Mark Athanitis has led Corowa to a 10-run victory over Kiewa at Ball Park on the weekend.

Batting first, Kodee Lowe (14) and Jordan Eyers (12) added 31 for the first wicket before three quick wickets fell with Corowa falling to 3/43.
And when Matt Grantham was run out for 10, Corowa was 4/63 after 25 overs.
Nathan Rhodes with 39, Jarred Lane with 36 and Kade Wilson with 30 not out were able to lift the tempo for the last 20 overs as Corowa finished their 45 overs at 8/167.
In reply, Mark Athanitis got an early wicket, while coach Daniel Athanitis picked up two wickets later on but Kiewa looked in control as they reached 3/81 after 25 overs.
Mark returned to collect another wicket and when Daniel picked up his third and Kalean Bradtke picked one up, Kiewa was 6/129 with five overs to go.
Mark collected three wickets in his last two overs as Corowa restricted Kiewa to 9/157 off their 45 overs. Mark finished with the very good figures of 5/32 off nine overs, while Daniel was good again with 3/18 off his nine overs.
The team has a chance to cement itself in outright second on the ladder when it takes on Mount Beauty at Mount Beauty this Saturday.

B Grade
B Grade suffered a big loss to second placed Kiewa at Kiewa.
Bowling first, Aaron Phibbs and Ryan Eyers both picked up early wickets to have Kiewa 2/14.
A good outfield catch to Luke Heagney saw Kiewa at 3/43 and when Heagney got a wicket Kiewa were 4/71.
But after that the heat got to the Corowa side with six chances going begging as Kiewa finished their 40 overs at 5/230.
Phibbs bowled well taking 1/19 off his eight overs while Eyers took to 2/35.
In reply, Corowa was never in the hunt after losing two wickets in the first over. Luke Heagney with 43 and Aaron Phibbs with 33 tried to lift Corowa and at 5/104 things looked ok. But the lower order struggled as Corowa lost its last five wickets for 14 runs to be all out for 118.
The side takes on Mount Beauty at Ball Park this Saturday.
C Grade
C Grade had a hard fought victory over Wodonga Maroons at Martin Park.
Bowling first Corowa struggled for a breakthrough with Wodonga adding 97 for the first wicket before Mark Wallis got the first wicket.
Two wickets to Liam McDonell brought Corowa back into the game with Wodonga at 3/110. Wodonga steadied and finished their 40 overs at 5/167.
McDonell was the only multiple wicket taker with 2/20 off eight overs.
In reply, Declan Stewart led the run chase with a well complied 77 and with support from Liam McDonell (21), Bailey Minogue (16) and Billy Raggett (14), Corowa was able to pass the total with nine balls to spare.
Stewart hit 12 boundaries in his innings and was only out 10 runs from victory.
