United represents at country championships

Four of United’s more senior men represented Hockey Albury Wodonga over the June Long weekend in Hawthorn.

Hockey Albury Wodonga sent two men’s sides down to compete in Hockey Victoria country championships.

United’s Tony Jones, Justin Burns and Brad James competed in the Masters 1 side with Brad Schmidt playing in the number 2 masters team.

HAW 1 had big wins over Gippsland, Warrnambool and Goulburn Valley in the pool games then a really hard come from behind win against the younger Goulburn Valley team 3-2 to reach the final against Central Victoria which was another hard game coming out winners 3-2.

HAW 2 finished bottom in their pool with 3 losses.

The HAW Spitfires also sent a team to Geelong with United’s Chloe Jones representing in the Women’s A1 competition.

The girls had to work hard in the match up against some tough competition but came out victorious.
