Corowa Lions Club supports junior rowers

Corowa Rowing Club has received a donation of $650 from Corowa Lions President Corrine Barker to assist with fitting out the clubs single sculls with the latest quick release shoe mounting plates.

The kind donation will help fund the purchase of six boat and shoe mounting plates to allow the juniors to wear the correct fitting shoes to assist with safety and on water performance.

The club has been constantly improving the fleet of racing shells and oars which come at a cost, with kids’ feet that are always growing, the latest BAT logic rowing shoes allow the club to have correct fitting rowing footwear that can be worn in multiple boats assisting with boat technique and performance.

The Corowa Lions Club has been a great supporter of the Corowa Rowing Clubs junior members, who love the challenge of competing against the state’s biggest clubs.

Corowa’s members have been working hard over the winter months enhancing their winter sports as the club prepares for the upcoming season due to begin in October.

The clubs first official date is the AGM, held on Sunday August 4 at the Rowing Shed.

With the popular cook off for lunch, some of the clubs best chefs will by vying for the much sort after title and trophy.
