Corowa Rutherglen 51 def Myrtleford 40
Myrtleford came out with a point to prove, but a second quarter romp by the A Grade side had the game safely in the Roos possession. Despite being tied for most wins in the comp, the team still feels it has some things to work on, but a win is a win.
Awards:
Sullivans Hair & Beauty – Sophie Hanrahan – Strong in defence, Sophie’s rebounding and tips on the ball were outstanding.
Club 1 – Jenni Barrett – Game of the season, this veteran came back rejuvenated from a week off and had fast feet to die for.
Club 2 “Perfection” Award – Emily Laracy – Standout game with plenty of controversy this girl worked so hard to minimise the impact her player could have.
“Origin Clothing” Award – Brooke Bice – continually worked for the team, Brooke challenged herself to playoff the body and kept creating space.
Canteen Award – Olivia Sinclair – Such a strong captain’s game, Liv led by example, hit her goals and was such a positive influence in the team.
B Grade
Corowa Rutherglen 71 def Myrtleford 32
Such a strong game and return to the court after a week off. The B grade worked solidly for four quarters and adjusted well to player changes.
Awards:
Sullivans Hair & Beauty – Bec O’Connell – 150 games on Saturday and Bec controlled the attack end, led by example and carved up her player.
Club 1 – Kiara McLean – Hit all her goals, attacked the ball aggressively, challenged the opposition and led by example.
Club 2 ‘Essential Beauty Award’ – Georgie Bruce – Led by example from the defensive end of the court. ”Sportspower Award” – Liv Barber – Adjusting to our new team, Liv is still finding her feet but put on a second half performance that the Saints couldn’t conquer.
Canteen Award – Imogen Taylor – Worked through her game on Saturday, positive vibes to everyone and solid at the post.
C Grade
Corowa Rutherglen 62 def Myrtleford 40
C Grade played a strong four quarters this week, winning each quarter convincingly.
The girls had worked at training on shutting down the Saints attacking and feeding combination and the defence were able to execute this, stopping their easy drive from the centre pass.
The team continues to grow with confidence in each player on the court and the many combinations they have available.
Awards:
Sullivans Hair & Beauty & Club 1 - Bec Kuschert worked very well in defence, placing lots of pressure on the shooters in and around the ring.
Working well with Ro in defence with great talk and responding to direction.
Club 2 – Brooke Ollington is establishing herself as a great part of our mid court team passing without hesitation, confidence & accuracy to the attacking players, in & around the ring.
Origin clothing (Players player)- Jade Lane has made the WD position her own.
Moving quickly to cover her WA opponents, her ability to leap and intercept/tip the ball are invaluable to the defence.
Canteen award – Amy Monte showed her playing experience in the ring.
Shooting at 81% this week, she is able to pull in passes and position her body to create space for feeding.
Her rebounding and balance was impressive.

Great team effort from all ten players.

Sullivans Hair & Beauty & “DOCS Award” – Molly King – Molly was solid for four quarters and had great vision to feed the goalers.
Club 1 – Ava Cofield – Welcome back after holidays. Great use of footwork and strong holds.
Club 2 – Lily Hanrahan – Attacked the ball well and listened and followed coaches instructions.
Canteen Award – Phoebe Osborne – Listened and followed coaches instructions and had good defensive pressure.
