A full field of spring buyers were present and all operating. At times the market was eratic with significant price spreads across trade weight new season lambs.
There was a slight easing of Covid 19 restrictions allowing re-stocker buyers to enter the sale yards with a number of pens returning to the paddock.
New season lambs weighing between 18 to 22kg were more limited this week selling from $153 to $186/head jumping $5 to $10/head.
Strong competition cross the good supply of heavy trade lambs saw lifts of $5 making from $176 and $203/head to average 802c/kg, however making up to 848c/kg cwt in places.
Merino trade lambs sold from $146 and $172/head. Heavy lambs were very well supplied and there was strong competition between domestic and export processors.
Heavy lambs made from $194 and $211 gaining $8/head. Additional numbers were on offer across the heavy export lambs with 26 to 30kg lambs selling from $209 to $237 lifting $13 and over 30kg lambs jumped $26 making up to $245/head.
MK bag lambs made from $129 and $158/head. Light lambs 12 to 18kg going back to the paddock were selling between $69 and 158/head.
Lambs with more cover back to the paddock were making between $156 and $176/head.
Mutton supply lifted along with the weight and prices trends. Heavy 4 score cross bred ewes made from $154 and $228/head to average 593c/kg cwt.
Heavy merino ewes reached $210/head. Trade sheep were selling between $124 and $154/head. A single pen of crossbred
wethers reached $240/head making approximately 515c/kg cwt.
