Ball Park plan imminent

“The three permanent fixed term staffing positions have been filled and works are now commencing on the operations of the park after 11th October,” she told councillors. 

Ms Appleyard was presenting her latest progress report on Ball Park operations. “Ninety day notices have been served and the eviction period ends on 11 October,” she said.

“A total of 49 sites have been vacated, from approximately 160 overall sites.”

Incidents totaling 22, including willful damage, threats and abuse to staff, theft, a fall and a fire, since the notice period commencement were mentioned by Ms Appleyard. Two ablution blocks have been closed as a result.

“To curb the number of incidents and to ensure park patrons and staff safety, staff are in contact with the police on a regular basis,” the director development and environmental services said. “Security patrols have commenced.”
