Giving tree happening again

By Corowa Free Press

The Rotary Club of Corowa in conjunction with Waldron’s Fresh IGA is again running a Christmas Giving Tree.

The Giving Tree provides the people of Corowa and surrounds with the opportunity to donate gifts non-perishable food to others less fortunate than themselves. It is preferable that gifts are unwrapped and they may be placed under the Christmas Tree which will be set up in front of the checkouts at the supermarket.

All donations will then be collected by the local St Vincent de Paul volunteers and distributed to families in Corowa who are experiencing some difficulties at Christmas time. This year has been hard for many local families, especially those on the land.

The Giving Tree will commence from Monday, November 18 and run through until Friday the December 21.

Beginning in 2004, this is the 16th year the Giving Tree has been conducted and many local families have benefited from the generosity of the local community at this special time of year.
