ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA DAY FOUR OF THE FOURTH TEST SNAPSHOT
STATE OF PLAY: Australia 179 and 246 England 67 and 9-362 - England win by one wicket.
MAN OF THE DAY: Ben Stokes. Produced one of the greatest batting performances in the history of Test cricket to steer England to a miraculous win. His 135 not out contained eight sixes. Put on 76 for the last wicket with Jack Leach - with the leg-spinner scoring just one of those runs.
KEY MOMENT: With England two runs shy of victory and Australia needing one wicket to win, Leach attempted a run that wasn't on. Pat Cummins lobbed the ball to Nathan Lyon behind the stumps with the spinner stranded half-way down the wicket, but Lyon somehow fumbled the ball and the chance to win the Ashes in England for the first time in 18 years vanished.
STAT OF THE DAY: England produced the biggest run chase to win a match at Headingley since Bradman's invincibles in 1948. It was also the 10th biggest of all time.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Gazza (Lyon) is obviously extremely disappointed, but no one's perfect, people make mistakes and that happens. The important thing is that when it happens you cop it on the chin, you hold your head up and you stick together as a team and you walk off together." - Australia skipper Tim Paine.
