Children are invited to bake a cake, slice or biscuit with a parent or guardian to enter the event on Monday, September 23 at the Campaspe Regional Library.
Bake-off judges are best-selling cookbook author Liz Harfull and Culinary Challenge coordinator Jacq Campbell.
While the kids may have to keep the gloves on for this competition, they can also have their cake and eat it too.
"Judging starts at 1pm and everyone is welcome to attend, followed by a yummy afternoon tea," library services manager Jenny Mustey said.
“The theme is ‘heritage’, where the creation of your tried and tested family recipes is encouraged.”
“There are separate age classes for 5-10 and 11-15-year-olds with fantastic prizes up for grabs in each.”
Entry forms and judges' tips are available from the library website or in library branches and can be requested via email at libraries@campaspe.vic.gov.au.
Entry forms must be submitted by Friday, September 20, with the baked goods to be received on Monday, September 23 from 9am to 11am.
