They see me rollin’

Elmore Bakery’s pepper steak pie won gold for the second year in a row at the Great Aussie Pie competition in Sydney this week.

It also collected silver for its chunky mince pie and bronze for gourmet smoked beef brisket, as well as its tandoori goat — the bakery's newest creation.

“The mood in the bakery is pretty high right now,” head baker Travis Wilson said.

“We're glad we got national recognition for our work as well as the local community.”

Part owner Nathan Bowes said the team at Elmore Bakery will be back next year to defend their title.

“We're pretty proud of what we've achieved and we love improving on what we do," Mr Bowes said.

The competition sees pie makers from all over Australia compete for various titles over four days in front of 16 judges from the baking industry.

The Elmore Bakery has competed in the competition for five years and has taken home numerous awards.
