The Cougars scored the first points when captian/coach Braydon Ballard crashed his way over the line near the post and Brian Harris converted, Corowa 6 CSU nil.
Corowa went in again after the CSU side put a kick on the fifth tackle on the half way line and Cougars half Back Billy Nichols grabbed the ball and raced 50 metres to score, Corowa 10 CSU nil.
CSU were next to score with their full back running 25 metres after some soft defence from Corowa, Corowa 10 to CSU 6 at the main break.
The visitors started to look good in the second half as the game see-sawed for 10 minutes.
Both teams were throwing their bodies about when Bailey Muras scored a valuable try for the home team and Harris converted, Corowa 16 to CSU 6.
With seven minutes to go Billy Nichols scored his second try for the match while running 30 metres to score, while Harris had little trouble converting, Corowa 22 CSU 6.
In the dying minutes of the game the CSU team scored out wide with the bell sounding, Corowa 22 to CSU 10, which was the final score of a hard fought match.
Corowa meet the undefeated Tumba side in the grand final this Sunday at Albury’s Greenfield Park, with things kicking off at 2.30pm.
