The Cougars were disappointing early as they dropped the ball within the first 10 minutes, setting a precedent that repeated throughout the match – costly mistakes which allowed the opponent the ball each time.
Corowa seemed to have been forced off their game plan as Tumba asserted themselves, jumping out to an 18 point lead after only 15 minutes of play, despite their opponent being down to 11 men.
Corowa tried their hardest to bounce back but the ball sat in their hands for too long, as they fumbled and made mistakes which continued to cost them.
Tumba were the first to score as the Cougars defence let their opponent break open and run.
Tumba runners quickly had the Cougars on the back foot again, scoring a try near the post and converting, Tumba 12 Cougars 0.
Tumba were down to 11 players after two were sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes, but that didn’t deter the green machine from scoring again, as they slipped away to an 18 nil lead.
Billy Nichols scored the first try for Corowa and converted to eat into the deficit a little.
Nichols again put a kick through and gathered, getting the ball to Ben Barker for a try and conversion to bring the deficit to six points at halftime.
Tumba come out of the half strong, scoring first to give them a bit of breathing space on the Cougars.
The opposition kept their foot on the gas by piling on two more try’s from the mistakes of Corowa and soon the lead was out to 32-12.
Cougars Bailey Marcus raced 30 metres to score for Corowa but it was too little too late as the siren sounded soon after.

That’s it, all over for 2019. The Corowa Cougars would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the season, the club is looking forward to the 2020 campaign ahead.
The AGM is the next big thing on the roster for Corowa, and the club welcomes those who want to climb on board of the committee and support the club.
There is a mention for anyone who is keen to join the committee, that they need to have a full paid membership to have voting rights.
