Sporting the new uniforms at home, Corowa won the toss and sent Dederang in to bat.
Opener Rhodes (2-12) got the home side off to a good start with two early wickets, before off spinner Luke Backhouse (2-13) and Declan Stewart (2-3) kept the wickets tumbling, bowling great spells.
Youngster Patrick Lavis then announced himself as a future star, bowling with great control and accuracy to finish with figures of 3-7 off 6 overs and bowling Dederang out for 58. Corowa’s run chase didn’t get off to the hot start they’d hoped for with openers Matt Wilson (4) and Kodee Lowe (4) dismissed early. Nathan Rhodes (12) steadied slightly but was dismissed to leave Corowa at 3 for 26. Jarred Lane (24 not out) and Declan Stewart (13 not out) then finished off the small total in 16 overs to bounce back from last week, and give A Grade their first win of the season.
Next week A Grade travel up the hills to take on Mount Beauty.

Caleb Kuschert and captain Danny Osbourne fired early with the new ball returning figures of 3-18 and 1-2 respectively. Osbourne bowling 6 overs including 5 maidens in a vintage display.
A sharp Closter cleaned up the tail in the last over as he comically tripped over the stumps in an attempted last ball run out in what can only be described as classic C Grade cricket.
The man of the match performance however goes to a determined Mak Lavis who fell just 5 runs short of an impressive half century chasing Belvoir’s 88 run total. With wickets falling all around, Lavis was able to guide a determined lower order home in a gritty win.
