Captain Athanitis won the toss and chose to bat first.
An early wicket was not the perfect start for Corowa but that brought Matthew Grantham to the crease. Grantham (45) and Jordan Eyers (44) ticked the score along at a good rate hitting the Barny/Chiltern bowlers to all parts.
Then a mini collapse of four quick wickets happened to have Corowa 5 for 121 with plenty of overs still to be bowled.
Dan Athanitis (27) then came to the crease in a quickfire innings with Jarred Lane (46 not out) who steered the side towards the end of the innings.
Luke Heagney (19) also batted well at the end of the innings with Corowa finishing their 40 overs with a big total of 7 for 233.
The second innings got off to a slow start for Corowa with Barny/Chiltern managing to make their way to 40 for no wickets. The introduction of Luke Backhouse (3 for 21) got the innings started and then wickets fell regularly.
Luke Heagney (2 for 3) with his leg spinners bowled well through the middle overs before Mark Athanitis (3 for 18) came on to clean up the rest of the tail.
A direct hit run out from Luke Heagney finished off the Barnawartha/Chiltern innings all out for 81 in a big 152 run win for Corowa.
