After Yackandandah won the toss and elected to bat it was a tough start from the Corowa bowlers. Yackandandah got off to a good start before the first wicket fell for 39.
The introduction of Kaelan Bradtke (3 for 23) and Luke Backhouse (1 for 14) slowed the Yack innings down with both youngsters bowling with good accuracy and control.
Corowa managed to restrict the home side to 6 for 100 looking at a reasonably low chase with 5 overs remaining in the innings.
Then all the flood gates opened with some poor bowling and fielding in the last 5 overs, Yackandandah managed to get 63 runs to get to a good score of 7 for 163 off their 40 overs. After going into the break depleted after what had just occurred the boys knew a big effort was required to get themselves out of a tough situation.
However, wickets fell at regular intervals and the game was taken away from the away side very quickly.
Jarred Lane (27) and Nathan Rhodes (20) showed some signs of fight through the middle overs.
The A grade were bowled out for 101 in a big 62 run loss.

C Grade Div1
Two juggernauts of Division 1 locked horns at Morris Park on Saturday afternoon and fans were treated to an early finals preview.
Winning the toss and fielding first, Corowa’s bowlers probed good line and length with Osborne leading from the front picking up the dangerous Andrews and at drinks the visitors were 3/76.
After drinks the boys set about tightening the screws and it was the introduction of Closter to remove the resolute Wodonga opener Jarvis with his first ball that turned the tide.
Six balls later and a magnificent effort at short mid-wicket, again from the agile Closter, brought the end of Wodonga’s captain.
A team effort seen out the innings with Osborne the pick of the bowlers finishing with 4/15 and Closter with a couple of catches and 2/3.
Smith and Allan were also able to bowl spin fantastically from each end in what may shape as a finals weapon.
The second innings had to be seen to be believed. After 12 overs bowled Corowa sat on 3/56 and veteran opener Raggett had 53 of them including 9 fours.
Riding his luck through the slips early, Wodonga’s bowlers struggled with the pressure and Raggett made them pay.
Some glorious on drives reflecting his C grade average of 50.7 but as the top order again struggled Alex Lavis made Wodonga work for his wicket as he refused to give it away and put together a gutsy 15 off 40 balls to set up an exciting finish.
Closter joined his captain requiring another 19 runs for victory and when Osborne fell Corowa needed a hero.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man. With nothing but an Akubra and 3lb of grade 4 willow Closter brought the innings home with one wicket to spare.
He declined an interview but did state that it was a fantastic team effort.
The win locks in a finals spot and the team will look to settle its top order as it storms towards a finals birth.
