Over the last few weeks we have seen an increase from our members taking part in social bowls. To make things a bit more interesting, from this coming Saturday 8 June through to Saturday 27 July we are bringing back Jackpot bowls. Names to be down by 12.30pm with a 1pm start. The cost is $5 per person, the format of the game will be determined on the day, depending on the number of players.
For the Jackpot to go off we need at least 12 players each Saturday. So polish those bowls and come along and have a game. Visitors are very welcome, and I have it on good authority that the bar will be open. We would also like to welcome Rob and Anne who played with us, I’m sure we’ll see them again.
By now most of you would have paid your annual subscription of $85.00, but if you haven’t there’s still time to do so, payment can be made at Reception of The Corowa RSL Club.
We have a couple of members who are unwell at the moment, we wish you all a speedy recovery. The club would also like to wish Pam Lee a very happy birthday for last week, Pam has been a long standing member of our club with numerous club championships under her belt, hope you had a great day Pam.
Corowa Indoor Bowls
Monday evening carpet bowls at the RSL, warm and dry in winter, cool in the summer, and never far from a bar. We played two more games in the 100 up with Peter Manning getting a win against Doreen Pleming for a change. And in the other game we had our first draw for the season when Ed Dunstan and Ken Pleming battled to tie up on 102 pts each.
Tuesday was a win for the team of Steve Jones, Dave Chapman, Sue Bishop, and Dianne Fletcher with two wins of 16 and14. Our runners up on a loss and a win of 5 and 17 were, Sue Trembath, Joan Catlin, and Anne Smith.
Thursday’s pennant was a bit of a disappointment again with only Corowa Red having a win.
With so many bowlers away at competitions Friday social was reduced to just five of us.
