Corowa Anglers Club hosted Dandenong Angling Club on the ANZAC Day long weekend at the Shanty, just out of Corowa.
Corowa was represented by 22 members and 18 people traveled for the Dandenong Club. Overall, 5 legal cod were recorded, with all being caught by the Corowa team. Having the largest measuring 77 cm, Rod Dunstan was a happy man.
25 legal Yellow Belly were caught during this time, which was wonderful to see. Of these, 22 were caught by Corowa members. Corowa taking home the annual trophy for another year.
It is always great to catch up with the Dandenong Club with great spit roast dinners and plenty of conversation around the campfire.
The club was also extremely fortunate to have Laura Stahl, a Boating Education Officer from Martime, attend and give everyone a free lesson on looking after and servicing life jackets.
Reminding all that inflating jackets must be checked annually to remain compliant and keeping everyone safe in an emergency.
If you are unsure of how to check your jackets, search online for the manufactures instructions and keep your check list with the jackets in a sealed bag along with recording the date of purchase and service on the inside of your jackets.
Happy fishing.
