Rutherglen 10:8:68 def Tallangatta 6:6:42
Award Winners: Star Hotel – Tory Oats, Bridge Road Brewery – Jimmy Hanrahan, Rutherglen Pizza – Tyler Ferraro
This week saw Rutherglen host Tallangatta at Barkly Park. The Cats started the game well, winning the ball at the contest, resulting in a handy lead at quarter time, despite kicking into the wind. The second quarter was much the same as the first with Tyler Ferraro controlling the ruck contests and giving the midfield first use. The second half turned into a real contested affair, with extra numbers around the stoppage and Tallangatta attempting to sit players behind the ball. Despite this, Rutherglen continued to control the contest, running out winners by 26 points. Ladder- Beechworth, Chiltern, Kiewa, Dederang, Barnawartha, Rutherglen, Thurgoona, Yackandandah, Wodonga Saints, Tallangatta, Mitta, Wahgunyah.

Award Winners: Winslow – James Plummer, Sportspower – Declan Peacock, Rutherlgen Pizza – Matt Curran
Another tough week for the Reserves boys with a much better drilled Tallangatta side over running us after half time. The pleasing thing for us was the ability and willingness of the Players to be played out of their comfort zones and having a crack all day. Jay Mase continues to play his role well as senior member of the team as well as a few of the young guys who still play thirds doing a ripper job for us in doubling up. If Cat’s get to training and get more time together as a group, there is no doubt they can move forward faster than expected.

Tallangatta were the opponents this weekend and right from the first bounce we knew we were in for a tough game and that's exactly what it was for 4 quarters. To the boy’s credit they stuck at it and came away with a decent win, led by Lachie 'The bull' Webb who kicked 3 goals in one quarter to get best on ground. The whole backline stood up and were excellent all day, Archer Colvin played his best game of the year so far and Tom Ford also excelled. Big challenge this weekend looking forward to the task in Barnawartha.

The under 14s put in a strong performance on the weekend against Tallangatta. It all started with the midfielder’s creating lots of opportunities for the forwards resulting in a good win. All in all, it was a team effort where the Cats played a very unselfish game of football. The Cat’s look forward to next week’s game against Barny.

Tough day on the court for the girls. The younger players keep showing up and putting in the work week after week against much older and more experienced sides. Keep it up girls.

Rutherglen centres, Georgie and Mia worked hard and pushed some great passes into the ring. As a team, the first half was really strong taking the lead in the second quarter which demonstrated their competitiveness. Tallangatta girls showed their stamina running away in the second half. Keep up the fight girls… Cats are improving each week.

Great day for netball and another strong win for the girls. The younger and newer girls continue to blow the coaches away each week with their enthusiasm and commitment. Jacinta played a blinder in defence with our little pocket rocket Harriett running her heart out through the centre. Special shout out to Matilda for her improvement in the ring and our newest little recruit Maiya, who’s growth is out of sight. Well done Champs.
