Legacy Golf Day
There’s still time to register for the Rutherglen RSL Sub Branch’s Legacy Golf Day on Sunday, March 18.
Rutherglen RSL Sub Branch Immediate Past President and golf day co-ordinator Noel Hince said the event was in its 70th year.
“It’s always a fantastic day and raises money for a great cause,” Mr Hince said.
“It’s been running since 1948 and used to be a 27 Hole competition and was only run in the winter.
“The local businesses get behind it and the golf club is very supportive and always put their teams in and donates the golf course to us on the day.”
Two years ago the RSL Sub Branch raised its largest donation – $5200.
The 18 Hole, 3 Ball Ambrose event offers novelty and ladies events.
There is a $700 hole in one contest (sponsored by Cofield & Co) and $240 for nearest the pin (sponsored by Colin Sainty).
Rutherglen Golf Club Captain David Ward said the Legacy Golf Day was the longest standing fundraiser to be held at the golf club.
“The day raises money for a good cause and there’s still time for people to register,” he said.
There’s no handicap required.
The day starts at 10am and entry is $15.
To register or for more information, phone Mr Hince on (02) 6032 9729 or 0438 314 729.

What a fun day was had by all on Saturday morning, we played a few holes and some very good scores seeing it was only our third Saturday back; next week will be a lesson and then the following week we are going to do 9 holes that will be fun.
Ryn and Paddy both played really great, our head coach was very pleased, it was so close that both the boys were given a ball each, for the record Ryn had 35 and Paddy 36.
Well done to you both, and now we are going to do our first 9 soon, I hope you are going to practice very hard, and don’t forget water, hat and sun block.
