The ladies pennant has finished with the finals being at Bright on April 17.

We were sadly lacking in numbers last Wednesday, it’s sad to see, surly there must be some more ladies out there who would like to learn to play golf, it’s a fun game, character building, meet new people and you may even like it, so come join us.

Howlong Vets Golf
The Hyundai Genesis Howlong Vets competition was held on Monday, April 16.
An overcast and cooler day greeted the field with another great turnout of 83 men and 22 women hitting the course.
The score of the day came from the Men’s A Grade winner Peter Donovan (C/B) and runner-up Kim Gray, with scores of 42.
David Charles had a great day out winning the Men’s B Grade with 40.
Peter Walsh scored 38 to claim the runner-up position.
Club President Graham Gould took the honours for the Men’s C Grade on 37, closely followed by Geoffrey Lawrence on 36.
Kaye Bingham won the day in the ladies’ division with a score of 41 points to blitz the field.
Goldie Reid finished runner-up with a solid 38 points.
The Beverley’s were Nearest the Pin today. Beverley Pilfoot took out the nearest the pin on the second and Beverley Simpson taking the honours on the fifth.
Men’s nearest the pins were won by David Stanley who took the prize on the 2nd,Nigel Cooper 5th and Peter Donovan on the 8th.
A big thank you for the great work from our volunteers Barry Bird and Dave Lowe who cooked the free barbecue for all of the players.
On April 22 Howlong Golf Resort is hosting its annual RSL Golf Day.
The event promises to be a great day.
The next Hyundai Genesis Howlong Veterans competition is on Monday, May 7, with an 8am for an 8.30am shotgun start.
This is an open competition to those players with an official handicap who are 55 years or older.
The Howlong Veterans annual joining fee is only $5 and this will affiliate you with the NSW Veterans. If you are affiliated with another state’s veterans competition you are more than welcome to play.
