Ms Ryan said train travellers and commuters needed to keep pressure on the government ahead of this year’s state budget.
‘‘V/Line’s latest performance data shows that over January punctuality has continued to drop for commuters on the Albury/Wodonga service with only 68.6 per cent of services arriving on time,’’ Ms Ryan said.
‘‘Passengers on the north east and Seymour lines are fed up with the government pushing this issue under the rug.
‘‘Everywhere I go, I am inundated with feedback from commuters who have missed appointments, and special occasions and some who have even had to give up their job as a result of our unreliable train services.
‘‘In 2016 Daniel Andrews promised new rolling stock if the Federal Government provided allocated funds to upgrade the track.
‘‘Three years later track works funded by the Federal Nationals are under way, but the Andrews Government still hasn’t allocated money for new trains.
‘‘New trains is not a lot to ask, considering the billions upon billions of dollars Labor is pouring into projects in metropolitan Melbourne.’’
