The increasing trend of voters throughout Australia casting their votes prior to polling day was evident in Corowa this year, with the majority of voters taking up the opportunity.

A total of 2,293 voters voted in the three-week lead-up to last Saturday, compared to 1,826 on polling day last Saturday.Â
Pre polling, at Oddfellows Hall, resulted in successful returning candidate Sussan Ley snare 1,171 or 54 per cent of pre polled votes. Next best was Independent Kevin Mack with 434 votes (20.15 per cent).
Elsewhere in Corowa, Sussan Ley collected most votes at Corowa High School (71, 48.97 per cent), at Corowa Public School (498, 47.61 per cent) and at Corowa South Public School (284, 59.29 per cent).
