Lawn White and Lawn Blue have played their second draw for the season on Saturday with a similar score line to the first.
Once again, women of the Lawn White controlled proceedings in their sets while the Blue men overwhelmed their White opponents.
Blue held a comfortable 10 game lead heading into the mixed sets, but anything is possible and when Paul and Wendy Hogan whitewashed their opponents 8-1.
There was a glimmer of hope that White would win outright as the two remaining sets continued to drag on.
It was evident that the scores were close, and the result was still in doubt.
Blue’s Ken Parker and Susie Bennett hung on to win.
The last set went to a tie break set and the experience of White’s Shaun Ablazej and Janelle Hartwig was telling when the match was in the balance.
Blue’s Jono Keys and Emily Brown ensured that White were made to earn every point to win the set.
Blue’s Ken Parker (3 sets), Emily Brown and Susie Bennett were their best and White’s Janelle Hartwig (3 sets) and Wendy Hogan (3 sets) and Carolyn Shaw were their best.

Wang Hardcourts have returned to the winners list at the expense of Boorhaman who have had a start to this season they would rather forget.
Wang Hardcourt were all over Boorhaman early. They dominated from the outset, never looked threatened and ran out comfortable winners.
Geoff Alexander, Marianna Hines and Maria Pulvirenti (3 sets) set up the win for Hardcourt while Zave Talbot, Ian Maiden & Hayley Thomson battled against the odds.
Everton Red have steadily compiled points this season and they gained another 9 on Saturday against an underrepresented Wahgunyah Blue team.
Everton Red’s experience and consistency were too much for a Wahgunyah team missing their team leaders.
Everton Red are now on top of the ladder and once again will be one of the teams to beat.
Julie Deretic, Ruth Kneenbone and Jo Lucas were best for Everton.
Wahgunyah Blue’s Scott Parker, Mitch Parker and Tye Callow can be proud of their efforts against the strong Everton men.
Wahgunyah Red are starting to find their form that won them the flag last week.
Myrrhee fell victim to the Wahgunyah team. Myrrhee were never in the match as most of the early sets went Wahgunyah’s way.
Once Wahgunyah have the scent of victory in their nostrils, they rarely let it slip.
Myrrhee’s Di Griffin, Cathy Van Berlo, Robyn Oliver and Dylan Van Berlo managed to put some pressure on Wahgunyah Red, but it was Jesse Johnstone, Trav McDonald and Ethan Palmer that provided the backbone to the Red side.
Rutherglen are starting to put together a team that is capable of challenging later in the season. They dominated against Everton Blue.
Rutherglen lead from start to finish. They never looked threatened by Everton and were winners by a large margin.
Everton’s Sam Bennett, Jarrod Kneebone and Rohan Kneebone provided the highlights for Everton and Helen Fuge, Sam Mase and Pete “Pres” Smith were unstoppable for Rutherglen.
Section 3

Wahgunyah Black (Jake Saville, Priscilla Hill, Mat Vogel, Corey Hill) had all the answers against Wahgunyah United (David Strachen, Dave Harris, Rob Hill, Kellie Storer) in a keenly contested match that went to the wire.
Wahgunyah Gold (Jake Goddard, Shaun Moore, Bailey Holmes, Ben Pleming) have sent a message to the other Section 3 teams after they dismantled an inexperienced Chiltern Red (Molly Williams, Grace Birthisel, Hamish Symth, Sarah Birthisel) team.
