Last weekend saw the Corowa Anglers Club monthly outing for August.
With some restrictions still in place due to COVID-19 and the previous week’s wet weather, it was decided to be an “open comp”. This comp is when you can fish anywhere and send in your photos. We had nine anglers out for the weekend with six fishing locally and three fishing away.
The catch of the weekend went to Lee Nelson with a monster, 130cm, barrel of a Cod up at Blowering Dam. A PB for him, as it would be for most.
One of our junior anglers, Liam Nelson, also got his PB with a whopping cod with a 10cm redfin still in its mouth.
Karen kicked in with her PB of 92cm Cod. Blowering Dam looked the place to be as no legal fish were caught locally.
Remember that Cod season finished in the Murray River on August 31 and reopens on the 1st December. Blowering Dam is open all year round as it is a stocked dam.
Happy fishing, Katfish.
