Tastes of Rutherglen returns to showcase the best of North-East Victoria’s celebrated wine and produce.
The 2019 programme is set to be a winner with a stellar line-up of activities and menus for the whole family to enjoy.
The annual feast features 19 Rutherglen wineries with something to taste, sip and savour behind every cellar door.
Tastes of Rutherglen is the ultimate gourmet adventure offering food and wine enthusiasts the chance to discover perfect pairings of the region’s stand-out wines with local produce.
The event is not just a food and wine lovers’ playground; let your senses loose as you enjoy a huge variety of Rutherglen wines, fantastic food, masterclasses, live entertainment and so much more amongst the vines.
While parents indulge in Rutherglen’s finest drops, little ones will be kept busy at each winery with kids’ menus, outdoor sports, play equipment, giant games and quirky activities from feeding turtles to stomping grapes.
Wine-lovers with a thirst for knowledge will also be delighted by the wide variety of learning opportunities throughout the weekend including behind-the-scene winery tours, back-vintage tastings, Rutherglen Muscat mixology classes, cheese and chocolate pairings, wine-blending and bottling and varietal masterclasses.
Festivities will carry on into the night with twilight dinners, special cocktails, pop-up bars and live music at several of the region’s wineries. With breathtaking surroundings and carefully curated menus, these authentic experiences are exclusive and not to be missed.
With the Rutherglen region famous for world-class fortified wines, be part the region’s epic resurgence as Muscat Cocktails and decadent Durif take centre stage.
Tastes of Rutherglen tickets are $20 per person and include access to each of the 19 wineries. Designated drivers will receive complimentary festival entry, plus two free tea/coffee/soft drink vouchers, provided by event sponsors TAC.
The bevy of buses will get you safely from winery to winery, leaving you footloose and fancy-free to feast and forage your way around. Be chauffeured from one cellar door to the next by TAC winery shuttle buses ($27 per day) of hop on a bus from regional cities ($37 per day)
From Frozé to Rosé, full bodied reds, a fine white or a Sparkling Shiraz, your weekend away in Rutherglen will be a little taste of wonderful!
