A former Big Bash League and state-level cricketer will plead guilty to child sexual abuse offences, a court has been told.

Aaron William Summers previously pleaded not guilty to the penetrative sexual abuse of a child or young person and grooming with the intention of exposing a child or young person to indecent material.

The 29-year-old fast bowler played one game for the Hobart Hurricanes in late 2017 and three one-day games for Tasmania, after making his debut in 2018.

The offences allegedly occurred in Hobart on January 16, 2018 when Summers was on the Hurricanes roster.

He was extradited from the Northern Territory to Tasmania in April to face the charges and pleaded not guilty in August.

The Supreme Court of Tasmania was told on Wednesday the matter would resolve with a plea of guilty.

There was a dispute in relation to some of the facts, Summers' lawyer Caroline Graves told the court.

Summers, who appeared via phone dial-in from Perth, will face court again on Friday with sentencing expected to occur at a later date.

His bail was continued.
