Elmore & District Machinery Field Days Inc executive director Derek Shotton said the relationship with Community Bank Elmore, Lockington and Rochester began about five years ago, when the bank came on board as a sponsor of the new pavilion.
The partnership helped fund improvements to the pavilion and surrounding facilities, strengthening the site as a space for both the annual Elmore Field Days and other community events.
“They support us and understand how much these events benefit Elmore,” Derek said.
“It’s been quite an enjoyable five-year partnership. The bank has shown that it shares our vision for community events.”
While the Elmore Field Days is the largest event held at the site, Derek said the grounds were active throughout the year, including hosting around 60 equestrian events annually.
The pavilion and surrounding parkland are among the areas regularly utilised, with the partnership helping Elmore & District Machinery Field Days provide improved facilities for visitors and the wider community.
Community Bank Elmore, Lockington and Rochester is operated by locally owned Lockmore Financial Services Ltd in partnership with Bendigo Bank.
Established by locals in 2003, the organisation directs profits back into the region through initiatives including community sponsorships, university and TAFE scholarships, shareholder dividends and local employment.
Derek said that shared commitment to the district had made the partnership a natural fit.
“They’ve always wanted to support the local community,” he said.
“It’s a great partnership, and they’re helping us provide guest facilities at the next level.”
