With a small school feel and strong resources, students benefit from personalised attention in a well resourced environment.
Their school values of Empathy, Respect, Courage, Responsibility and Personal Excellence are embedded in all aspects of school life.
A key strength is their focus on emotional intelligence through the RULER approach, supporting students to recognise and manage emotions, build positive relationships and contribute to a respectful culture.
During Education Week, the school will proudly open their doors to grandparents and special visitors to showcase the rich learning experiences that define Orrvale.
Visitors can see their balanced approach to English, with dedicated time for English skills and English literature, supported by a two-year reading spine that places high quality texts in every child’s hands.
During Education Week, their mathematics classrooms highlight their belief that there is a mathematician in all of us.
Visitors will see students engaged in hands-on learning through mathematical games, rich tasks and problem solving challenges that build confidence and fluency.
During Education Week, families can also see how technology supports learning, with iPads in Foundation to Grade 4 and a one to one laptop program in Grades 5 and 6.
Their STEM, Art and Language programs will also be on display, along with facilities including the woodwork program, playgrounds, Ninja Course and basketball courts.
Orrvale Primary School is a place where students grow, achieve and belong, and they are proud to share this with their community during Education Week.
