Shepparton’s annual Community Candlelight Memorial brought together residents of all ages to quietly honour loved ones lost over the past year.

Organised by GV Hospice, the event was held at the amphitheatre behind the Shepparton Art Museum on Wednesday, May 14.
Attendees lit battery-operated candles and wrote personal messages in memory of those no longer with them, creating a gentle glow across the lakeside as night fell. The Divine Divas, Debbie McAlloon and Sue Windsor, performed on the night, alongside a moving bagpipe tribute by Alexander McKinnon from Goulburn Valley Pipes and Drums.
Former police chief Ian Bull served as MC, while volunteers and staff from GV Hospice and GV Health supported the event. A free barbecue was provided by Mooroopna Lions Club, with warm drinks available from a coffee van.
The memorial offered a welcoming space for the community to come together, regardless of faith or background.
