With Masters champion Rory McIlroy already locked in, it can be revealed that talks are also taking place with DeChambeau in what would rank as the biggest one-two coup since McIlroy and Jordan Spieth graced Sydney fairways more than a decade ago.
"Yeah, it'd be great to have Bryson come," PGA Tour of Australia chairman Ian Baker-Finch said at Augusta National.
"And not just Bryson. We're asking all the needle movers, anyone that wants to come down and support the Australian PGA and the Australian Open.
"I would say they're the top two needle movers for sure. And I think just having Rory at the Open there bolsters the field - everyone comes down."
McIlroy won the Open at Royal Sydney in 2013 before Spieth reigned at The Australian in 2024 and Royal Sydney two years later.
But with McIlroy and DeChambeau playing in the final groups together at last year's Masters and the 2024 US Open while splitting a major each, their presence in Australia would renew one of golf's most compelling rivalries.
"I think they'd both love to be down there and have the opportunity to play against each other," Baker-Finch said.
"Australian golf is in a good place. We just need the community to invest in that and understand that we have some of the best players in the world, certainly many of the top golf courses in the world, and we put a good show on.
"We already know that Rory's signed up to come last year and this year and we're so grateful that he is.
"It's turned the Australian Open around, coming back to the sandbelt, having a great field. The support cast came along as well, which they will always do with the great golf courses.
"I talk to them all the time and they all want to come, the top players.
"But it's not just a matter of inviting someone down. They've got to really want to do it for the right reasons and then you've got to get the support behind it as well."
As a rising 22-year-old, DeChambeau tied for 30th at the 2015 Australian Open at The Australian Golf Club in Sydney.
This year's Open will take place at Melbourne's famed Kingston Heath layout from December 3-6.Â
The Australian PGA Championship will be held the week before, tipped to be in Sydney.
