A total of $20,000 was raised for the Rochester primary and secondary schools through a huge community event held at Kyabram P-12 College at the end of November, as well as a mega Christmas raffle.
A large number of businesses, clubs, schools and community groups were involved and it was amazing to see the response from Kyabram and surrounding towns, according to event organiser Sarah Mangan.
On Monday it was announced to staff at the Rochester Recreation Reserve and they were presented with the ‘Run for Rochy’ sign made and donated by Empire Signs.
“We really hope this money assists the schools in getting back to as close to normal as possible,” Mrs Mangan said.
“What a resilient and grateful community they are.”
